Our New Home – Finally!

…And seeing as how I’m a fire dragon (b. 1976) it really is fitting that the name of our home is “Sanctuary of the Dragon” or “Dragon Sanctuary”…and from now on I’ll refer to it as D.S. It’s up on the mountain (mauka) in Honaunau. In fact, as Carol Jean let me know, I’m living at the “Capstone of the Healing Triangle”, directly above the famed City of Refuge National Park.

The first order of business is to rest and recuperate. So that is what we’ve been doing…when we’re not swimming or going to parties or school events.

I don’t know much about feng shui other than it is the “art of right placement” and that you can move things around in your house to get a more auspicious flow of “chi” happening. But I do know that there is a desk built into the back room (now my office) and I can feel the force of creativity rushing the flood gates. It’s good.

Dante is so happy to have our own home at last – he’s already taken the initiative to start cultivating the garden area. I bought him a little garden hoe (real wood and metal) and some corn seeds. He planted them one day when I was busy doing something else – a week later the little guys sprouted. We then spent some quality family time in the garden thinning out the patch (he’d dumped all the seeds in a little hole he dug) and planting the baby corn sprouts in rows.

Our house is gorgeous – check out the pictures on flikr … Or for more kicks click over to www.myspace.com/divinacommedia . A snapshot into the slowly reviving personal life of Zhenya Delate. I actually feel like I’m getting a personality again. Or maybe for the first time. I’ve been pretty dreary internally for a while now. But that is changing – Hawaii is literally rewiring my brain. I’m not the only one who claims this. There is something about this place.
