Polygamous family spotted in Portland, Oregon

Trippy, trippy, trippy… Ever seen a live polygamous family strolling down the street before? I just did… In the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. Man about age 47 had three wives and some kind of female escort with him. All wives wore matching little house on the prairie style dresses, dirty blonde hair pulled back into buns covered with sheer white bun caps. One of the wives struggled to keep up, walking behind her so called “husband”. No wonder, she looked about 13 years old. Oldest “wife” looked in late 20’s. WTF? How are these guys getting away with marrying/f*@king 13 year old girls? Isn’t that statutory rape?

I believe people should be able to do what they will – as long as it does not hurt children. I guess FLDS members are mostly brainwashed and inbred though, so their definition of what it means to hurt a child might be slightly skewed.

Dear God, please wipe this ignorant treachery from the earth.

To Go Raw… Or to Not Go Raw – Your Thoughts?

Hi Friends!~

It's a beautiful day in Arcata, California and I'm loving my beautiful summer backyard – I've included a photo of my lovely nasturtiums growing like weeds. I have a gorgeous array of plant life blossoming now – flowers – gladiolas, hydrangeas, rose, rose-geranium, the aforementioned nasturtium and some others whose names I don't know.

My vegetable garden boxes are booming with my favorite greens – Swiss chard, Kale, Collards, Broccoli and lettuce. It's my first year having a successful garden that we can actually eat out of, and it's just a wonderful feeling to go outside and pick our dinner. Not to mention Delicious…and healthy! Here's to a sustainable future.

As many of your know, my profession is eco-friendly internet marketing, and lately I have several clients in the healthy food genre. It all started when Book Publishing Company (BPC) – an independent bookseller that specializes in publishing Raw Books and Vegan Books – signed on with me last September.

Thomas Hupp, my contact there, blessed me with not 1 but 10 beautiful, easy to follow yet exquisitely delicious vegetarian, raw and vegan cook / recipe books. Look out for upcoming reviews on these wonderful raw and vegan recipe books on those from me coming soon!

Thomas also introduced me to one of their star raw book authors – Jenny Cornbleet. She wrote "Raw Food Made Easy" and more recently "Raw for Dessert".

Needless to say, I've been inspired. Since my adolescence I've known about veganism because many of my friends were vegan (before it was hip!) – but I personally never had a specific desire to go in that direction… Until now, that is. Now that I'm, ULP, getting older - and being as VAIN as I am about my youthfulness and vitality, I realized that the old cooked food diet just ain't cuttin' it right now. I want the Raw Food eaters GLOW, darn it.

It's time to be honest with myself and admit that I'm not seeing that super-glow when I look in the mirror. Even though I've always eaten healthy, organic food and drink clean, pure water... Still, I must admit…

Soooo…anyone out there living the Raw food diet got any practical tips and suggestions for me to break into this mode of eating and lifestyle? Anyone doing a 50%-50% Raw diet or any other way? I'm going to have to ease my way into this I think…

The Last Airbender Movie Review

I watched “The Last Airbender” in 3D with my son (he’s 8 years old), his dad (34) and his dad’s other son (6 years old) yesterday in a beautifully restored ornate Oakland theater, off the I-580 on the Lake shore drive exit.

I wasn’t expecting much – neither the trailer on TV nor other people I met (the girl at the hair salon), gave me a good impression. The main complaints were that the story line in the movie differed too much from the Nickelodeon cartoon show “Avatar: the Last Airbender”. [sidenote: I guess they couldn't use "Avatar" in the movie title because of copyrights by the OTHER "Avatar" movie released earlier this year.]

Anyway, I was mostly pleasantly surprised – I loved the effects, and I loved the thought that millions of American children are hearing words like “meditate”, “ying yang”, “evolution”, “nature spirits”, “sacred site” etc. This was great. Also, one of the Avatar’s spirit guides informs him that his job is “never to hurt others” but yet still to show them who is boss. Beautiful, a hero who does not Hurt. The editing of the movie was good, and the special effects were perfect.

Here are the things that I found horribly wrong with the movie:

The Water Tribe people, Katara and Sokka and the rest of their tribe are WHITE skinned. Um excuse me? Their skin is beautiful and BROWN in the cartoon show, and I am disappointed that Hollywood yet again went the white-y route. There are plenty of dark skinned child actors and actresses in Hollywood, WTF?
Ang – WHITE skinned… not even Asian? I mean Puleeze. This is disgraceful. Really.
The bad guys? Dark skinned… even more f**ked.
Oh, and no honor and glory for the divine feminine in the beginning either – it’s Katara that finds Ang, not her brother Sokka as shown in the movie.

Like a rolling stone…

The date of my last post? May 13th, 2009. Wow 5 months ago…seems like a lifetime ago. Ever hot on the trail of my mission to become Liberated – Moksha – Truly Free on all levels, I now find me and my son another 700 miles away from our last home location.

It has been a rocky ride for the little man. He does not like setting up shop in one place, getting used to it and then all the sudden we are smack dab in he middle of a new scene, new challenges, no name, no face. To him it’s simple: Hawaii. It’s where we were both the happiest we’ve ever felt in our lives.

It’s been a rocky ride for me as well, the act of keeping all the things I have going continuing through these transitions has been treacherous. I’m happy to feel at last grounded. Hawaii still beckons, but it is a quieter call. It knows we are where we are meant and destined to be right in this very moment.

I’ve been relentless in my pursuit, now I’m relentlessly not going to move again until it is the way the truly Gifted, Blessed and Intellegent folk of this planet net – easfully and gracefully.

It’s not as ideal weather-wise where we are now. Up until now it’s been tropical, bright and sunny places. Something totally different and new. Goddess Bless us on our path to total Fulfillment, Joy and Peace. I am only doing the best I can, see my earnest effort and bless me.

I’m starting a step by step, day by day action plan IM program (MOIS). It’d be swell if this thing really worked out this time. Peace and Love y’all, til we speak again. Aloha~

Cheap, Healthy Lunch Ideas for Working Moms

Recently at my new job I’ve given in to Microwavable meals. I don’t intend to do this forever, because as you may or may not know, using microwaves is toxic. I’ll cover this in more detail at another time.
